SQL Server 2005 Embedded Edition

  • We installed WSS v3 x64 on one of our servers to provide us with a Team Site for our Data Warehouse project.  WSS is using SQL Server 2005 Embedded Edition.  It does cause some headaches when trying to run SAC, I have to stop SQL Server 2005 Embedded Edition to run it.  That, however, isn't the question.  Has anyone else installed this version of SQL, and have you been able to get SSMS to connect to it?  So far, I haven't had much luck, and we would like to make sure we get some kind of backup strategy established for disaster recovery purposes.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  • I think there is nay SQL Server 2005 Embedded Edition...where as there is Express Edition...

  • I double checked the properties on the server, it specificially says: SQL Server 2005 Embedded Edition.  Has anyone else installed the 64-bit version of Windows SharePoint Services using the provided SQL Server to host the SharePoint Sites.

I would really appreciate any assistance in determining how to go about setting up a backup/recovery process for WSS and our Development Team Site.

I have no problems working with standard, enterprise, or developmental editions but this one is just not cooperating.

    Thanks
