SQL Replication from 2012 SQL DB to 2017 SQL DB.

    We have 2 different servers running 2012 and 2017.

    2012 SQL. Production system. Do not want to add reporting functionality to it. Fairly busy.

    2017 SQL: We would like to set this for replication on this server from the 2012 Instance.

    Is that Possible. Is the replication possible from 2012 SQL (source) to 2017 SQL (Target).

    Any help is appreciated

    I think you maybe one version away from being able to set something up. What versions are supported depends on some other information such as the distributor and the type of replication. But you can find the matrix of what is supported in the following documentation:
