Hi can anyone help
I have been thrown in at the deep end and am now looking after the companies SQL servers for both a systems administrator and a database administrator role.. I have been asked to setup a SQL Profiler account and have been told to give it sa rights… Can I not lower the security? We have an amazing bunch of meddlers here and to give them an sa account is not a good idea. What is the minimum security rights you need to give to SQL Profiler

With SQL2005 it's better (just grant alter trace)
but with sql2000, if you want it you'll need to give sysadm rights.
Avoid it for your production servers !
Implement a scenario, so they contact you to activate profiler, or start a trace to file.
