SQL Express 2008 Edition NEEDED!!

    I would like to ask Is there anybody who has a Version of SQL Express 2008 edition and not the server version. It would be very much appreciated if somebody could point me to a working link which has it or if somebody would not mind email to me.

    Thanks but this is the sever version..I am looking for the specific named "SQL Express 2008 Edition" but thanks anyway for taking an intrest!

    What exactly are you trying to do? Install client tools to connect to a separate server?

    Those are one and the same.

    SQL 2008 Express is SQL Server 2008 Express edition.

    I have been told there was a earlier version called "SQL Express 2008 Edition" but Microsoft ceased realesing it. I did read somewhere that it was superceded to SQL SEVER 2008..I have been requested by my host people to try and get this version to run with my other add ons...so I will keep looking.

    Express Edition has always been labelled as Server 200x Express since inception in 2005 (SQL Server 2005 Express Edition).

    Prior to that it was MSDE.

    I believe whoever told you that there was a different edition was misinformed.
