SQL database restore is very slow

    I am restoring a 500GB database using SQL litespeed. I have 500GB * 3 RAID5 configuration. But the restore is still very very slow. The system is 2way with 3GB RAM. Any suggestions to improve performance are welcome.

    How slow is slow? How long did your backup take?

    Where are you doing your restore from? Over a network? From a tape? From disk?
