sql clustering without scsi

  • Hi guys,

Is it possibleto create a windows 2000 advanced server SQL cluster without using a shared SCSI bus, in other words by just using the IDE disks on the server.

My scenario is as follows, I have 2 separate windows 2000 advanced servers, they are both connected to the domain.  They have two network cards, one is the heartbeat connection, the other to the public domain.  They have one IDE disk each.  When I install the cluster service, it does not allow me to go through the wizard for setting up the cluster unless I have a shared SCSI bus, controllers etc.

Is it possible to set up clustering without the shared SCSI bus?

  • You have to have a disk subsystem that is shared between the servers. Each server must connect to it. IF you can do it with IDE, let ME KNOW!!!!!
