Hi All,
We are using Veritas backup application to take backup of our database online. While taking differental backup say like at 4.30 am the database backup size is like 1,000 MB and second differential backup at 5.30 am the backup size is like 900 MB. Where are after one hour the database size should grow. There are no deletion upto that much size also. this type of problem i m facing second time. i m worried and not finding any solution too.
Please give some thoughts....

Hi,
What is happening in the database between those times? Have you got any jobs scheduled between those times? Are your maintenance plans rebuilding your indexes/updating your statistics?
It might be worth putting a trace on that database between those two differential backups for an hour and seeing what activity is going on to see why the second differential is so big.

Actually database backup size is reduced, which should get increased.
and other thing is there are schedules which pull or push data from one database to another and it is daily activity. but it is not happening everytime.
