SQL Agent will not start unless service account is local admin

  • I do see the groups MSSQLSERVER and MSSQLSERVERAGENT having full control rights to various folders, the agent group having less. I only saw the agent on MSSQL12.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Log with full control rights. I added the SQLAgent group to the root of my data drive, where all of the system data files and folders are. Didn't help.

This looks about right to me, not having a succinct list of the locations where the groups should have rights, and what those rights are. Sure wish ProcMon would capture the failure Info I need. It would make things so much easier.

    Thanks,

    Chris
