SQL Agent stopped

    I recently had the SQL Agent stopped for a reason that I cannot determine, causing my Backup job not to run.

    It has run for a number of month's without incident.

    Can anyone think of a situation that could stop the SQL Agent without a person manually stopping it ?

    Any ideas will help

    Occasionally, I've seen SQLServerAgent service generate a Fatal Exception error, but have never managed to get to the bottom of it. This was with SQL6.5 under NT4. What is your environment?
