SQL 2012 - Trace flag 3604 turning on and off, sp_server_diagnostic

  • Hi -

    Couple of questions..

    1.

We're running sql 2012 in production.

During the day, we're experiencing the following throughout the day:

    DBCC TRACEON spid

    DBCC TRACEOFF spid

No one on our side is running any SQL traces... Purely system generating.

Anyone experience this type of issue.

    2.

Seeing the following running all day/night.

    sp_server_diagnostics

Pssdiag is not running - not sure what/where/how the process was initiated.

    Anyone have any idea's?

  • As for the first, 3rd party monitoring tool running?

As for the second, clustered instance?

  • 1. No - no third party applications even installed on the server. All extended events are disabled.

    2. Always On Availablility Group configured.
