SQL 2008 Replication Monitor Strange Behavior

    Didn't see a forum thread for SQL 2008 Replication. This is SQL 2008 related so I'll post here.

    I have a publication that is not having updates. Periodically, I see latency spikes up to Critical Performance and then resolve itself over 30 to 45 seconds.

    This doesn't seem to be accurate since while this latency is being reported, I can kick off a tracer token which completes in less than 5 seconds.

    Anyone seen this issue with Replication Monitor? Since there are no updates, there couldn't be latency, could there?

    its a bug with the monitor. Create a job to insert a trace token every so often start with every day and move down from there. Depends on the amount of replication you do you may to do it every hour. Doing this will keep the monitor clean
