SQL 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 SP1 Sharing Server

  • I have a server that has 2 instances of SQL Server 2008 SP1 and 1 instance of SQL 2008 R2. When I did the installs for this server I installed the SQL 2008 SP1 instances first, and then did the R2 instance last.

Now i need to apply SP2 to one of the SQL 2008 SP1 instances. Is this going to cause any problems to my R2 instance?

    Thanks..

    John

  • No. They are separate versions of SQL. It's like having 2005 and 2008 on one server.
