sql 2005 (x64) --> sql 2005 (x86) environment

  • We are specing out a new sql server box for our developers:

        Windows 2003 Server x64 edition

        8GB RAM

        mirrored 300GB UltraSCSI drives (1 hot spare)

        Sql Server 2005 x64 edition.

        Databases will be access from VS.NET 2005 stored procs.

    Suppose we need to transfer the databases from this server to a Windows 2003 Standard\Sql 2005 Standard x86 (32-bit) environment.

    Is this possible or are we in for big trouble?

    TIA,

    Bill

  • Databases can be transfered back and forth between 64bit and 32bit servers the same way that they are between two 32bit servers...
