Sql 2005 -- where is the "Report" button?

  • I just installed Sql 2005 Reporting Services on my workstation (running sql 2005, sp2, developer edition). I read that, under Mangement Studio, I should now be able to select a database and then select the "Report" button to generate various reports about database size usage, longest running query, etc.

    Unfrortunately, the Report button does not appear for in my Management Studio. Any ideas?

    TIA,

  • Are you SURE you have SP2? As best I can recall, those thing didn't show up until SP2. I'd reapply/reinstall my client tools, and then repatch the machine

  • right-click on a Database, you'll see a "Report" menu item -> Standard Reports

    Matt, those things existed in SP1 at least - as far as I can recall. The confusing part of this was that in SP1 there was a 'Report' button available. In SP2 - the report button was removed and the Reports context-sensitive menu item was added.

    Caused quite a bit of confusion - and apparently, still does...;)
