SQL 2005, RAISERROR with log will not write to event log

  • Hi,

I'm trying to make one of my SQL Servers write to the event log.

    I have a call

    RAISERROR(55058,19,1) with log

The results section of the query analyser shows the error along with the text of the message for 55058, but nothing shows up in the system application event log. I does appear in the sql error log.

My account is both a domain admin, and a SQL Server admistrator.

    Any ideas on this?

    Dave.

Oh, the topic should say SQL 2000. But I can't change it.

  • What rights your account has on the local machine/domain is irrelevance. What the SQL Server Service account is may have some effect on this. Check what rights the SQL service account has.

  • Hi Gail,

It's running under the local system account. I think thats NT Authority\SYSTEM, which is in the administrators system group.

    Thanks,

    Dave
