  In the operating system requirements for sql server 2005, books online says

  windows server 2003 sp1 supports all editions of SQL Server 2005.

  But is this the Windows Server 2003 standard edition? If they are not the same, does Windows 2003 Standard edition support SQL Server 2005 enterprise edition?

  Memory Limits for Windows Releases

  The simple answer is that yes, it will run just fine, but your choice of OS may place limits on SQL Server, for some combinations.
