Hi all,
Anyone have any ideas why this happens.
When opening SQL 2008 or 2005 management studio I get this error message:
Microsoft .NET Framework
Cannot create a stable subkey under a volitile parent key.
Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. if you click continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.

This is happening on a Win 7 enterprise desktop.
SQL 2005 SP3 and SQL 2008 SP1
Win 7 SP1 not installed
Visual Studio 2003, 2005,2008 and 2010 are installed.
Repairs has been run for SQL.
User has full admin rights.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Seems like it is either a problem with writing to the registry or .NET issue?
