My company still has several clients that it supports that use SQL 2000. From the reading I have been doing this has been a problem in the past that in SQL 2005 was resolved by the addition of the browser. I have tried adding the server with SP_AddServer making sure port 1433 was open and listening. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

This is a SQL Server 2008 forum. You will probably get a better response for your question if you move it to one of the "SQL Server 7, 2000" forums.
