Snapshots going into recovery mode

  • Hello Everyone:

I am running into repeated occurrences of a snapshot that goes into recovery mode as soon as it gets created. Can someone shed some light on why this would be the case? Once the snapshot goes into recovery mode, it starts to consume a lot of I/O partly due to a number of other processes running and takes a while to complete the recovery process.

Any insight into the above is greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance for you time.

    Regards,

    krish.

  • Database snapshot?

Are there long-running transactions at the time you create them?

  • There are multiple types of snapshots in SQL Server. Please clarify which type you're referring to.
