Slow Database Listing in Enterprise Manager

  Does anyone elses Enterprise Manager seem to take forever to download a listing of databases after they click the "+" next to Databases?

  I use an SQL Server on my web host's network. I connect through the internet.

  However sometimes it can take hours to fetch the list of databases so that I can select mine and administer it.

  Why does it fetch the details of EVERY database on the server, even the ones I do not have access to? (My logon only gives me access to a single database on the server). Why cant it just retrieve the details of the SINGLE database?

  I agree that is annoying. My only response would be to use Query Analyzer instead of EM whenever possible. Or add another server 😉
