Slow connection

    Hi,

    I've just installed Windows Server 2003 SP2 on our SQL Server 2005 database server and now connections from remote computers are very slow. The connections can take upto 40 seconds to establish but then all queries on that connection work fine. If I ping the database server, we get a reply in milli seconds.

    Can anyone suggest some areas I should be looking at to resolve this?

    Resolved - the problem was caused by the software firewall settings being reset. It does make me wonder why the connections were only delayed rather than blocked!
