Shrink command

    Yes I know the tempdb is recreated based on the size of the model database, but our tempdb wasn't being recreated. It just got stuck at 17 GB. Even after a restart.

    I just had a discussion about SQL2K's tempdb. We had four DBAs talking about the various ways the system really uses it as opposed to what the manuals say.

    And your situation is not rare.
