  can any give me tha solution why my sql server 2000 database server is frequently shooting up 100% cpu utilization even though there is no single coonection on databases? please suggest me what can be done as it is very urgent since our business is machine critical

  1. Are you using task manager from the operating system level to identify the 100% usage, or performance monitoring from inside SQL Server?

  2. Are the devices dedicated solely to SQL Server?

  3. Are you monitoring user volume and activity?
