Shared Session ID from multiple hosts? Is this possible?

  • 2011-10-31 02:43:29.68 spid58 Error: 10982, Severity: 16, State: 1.

2011-10-31 02:43:29.68 spid58 Failed to run resource governor classifier user-defined function. See previous errors in SQL Server error log from session ID 58 for details. Classifier elapsed time: 0 ms.

It is then followed by ...

The request failed to run because the batch is aborted, this can be caused by abort signal sent from client, or another request is running in the same session, which makes the session busy.

I have seen multiple hosts on the same SPID. My question is this? Does anyone know of documentation that details how connection pooling creates/releases sessions?

I am trying to find out how what appears to be two (or more) hosts sharing a spid. As I understand spids, this isn't possible.

Is this just telling me that the spid was released and is being re-allocated to the pool?

  • Batch is old 4+ years. Nobody have responded. I came to the same problem, not enough clear to me.
