Setup Error

  • When trying to install SQL 2008 and the checks come back as passed and no errors detected. How ever about 60% of the install I receive the following error: -

Error Writing to File:Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory.

Then the install fails  Any have a work around for this?

    Thanks

  • Is the installation location on a local disk? Can you check that disk is available in windows explorer?

Have you Googled for the error and check for solutions.

From what I know is if SQL Server 2008 Installation fails due to some reason, you cannot re run the installation until you uninstall it from Control Panel -> Add Remove Program

  • Hi

It is from a DVD, I have googled it to no avail and uninstalled using the control panel etc. I just dont understand what the error is about !

  • So after repeated attempts, the installation is failing with the same error?

  • Yep !

  • Copy the DVD contents to one of the local drives and run the setup. (check for disk space, I assume you must be having enough space.)
