Settings in Server Properities do not take

  • When changing the settings in SQL Server 2000 with the gui from Enterprise manager, the settings do not stay set. Example: When you right click on the server, click on properties, change the max memory from 1024 to 924. Click ok, then go back into the settings, it is back to 1024. If we use sp_configure, the settings change correctly. If we change the default data directory and log directory, these settings also do not stick. We actually had to go into the registery add a value DefaultData and DefaultLog before this value would be changed.

If you know of an issue or problems with this and the correct fix, please let me know.

Info which might be helpful: We start both the SQL Server and SQL Server Agent with an account other than the local administrator, however the user is in the local admin group and is a domain admin.

    thanks for your help
