Any tips for applying a service pack to a SQL 2008 production server running SharePoint? We are a small shop with no sandbox going for SharePoint.
Since I have little to no involvement in administering SharePoint I am wondering what the best approach might be.
Would it be a good idea for me to load (restore to) the config and content databases on a development server, apply service pack 3 and do some checks first?
