Service Broker - two instances across 2 machines

  • 1st if SSCommitted (RBarryYoung) reads this... thank you for your answer to my last post... you were 100% correct....i saw the "he session keys for this conversation could not be created ...." but it just did not register...thanks - that works now

    On to next question/problem... two instances across 2 machines

    1 Do i have to have a Certificate... and security for Service Broker across 2 machines (both in the same domain)...what i am trying to do is across some development machines at this point i am totally not security concerned

    2 Master key creation... same question if i have (can i have) NO Encryption on the Begin Dialog and not have to create a Master key

    Sorry, I have not tried this yet, so I am not sure.

    Well you always have to have a Master Key if you are crossing DB's or Servers. Supposedly, you do not have to have one if you are just staying in one DB, however, they always recommend it anyway, and I have never been able to go without one. I always get the same error that you got.

    In the end, it was easier to just always use a Master Key than it was to figure out how to get around it. Since I was not security concerned either, I just always use the same password: "Password1".
