Hi there... our server time is running 5 minutes fast. Is the database clock synchronised with the server clock, or is it set manually by us?
Thanks ..Meg :o}

synched with the server. We have determined (Another thread) that this takes some time when the system time is changed, so I suspect that the SQL Server "checks" the system preiodically.
Move the server time, give it a minute or so and check SQL again.
BTW, this is a good reason to have an NNTP server.

I was in that thread. That effects seems to only occurr on SQL7, never got anyone at Microsoft to answer that for me. 2000 seems right in line as soon as the time updates. Have not tried 7 with SP4 yet though. Also make sure you have Windows Time service turned off and this should allow the server to use its RTC for the time and not update base on the other machines. May even consider using an Atmoic clock app to connect to an Atomic clock server to sync if you are concerned with the time.
