  I got following error while executing an query .

  Kindly give me a solution asap.

  Server: Msg 8115, Level 16, State 6, Arithmetic overflow error converting varchar to data type numeric.

  like the message says, you're trying to convert a varchar to a numeric datatype. The content of the varchar is not a number !

  This can also occur with implicit conversions when comparing a varchar column to a numeric datatype column.

  this query may give you an idea.

  select *

  from table1

  where ISNUMERIC (youvarcharcolumn) = 0
