we have a x64 bit cluster with 32 GB ram. Window enterprise SP2 w/ SQL 2005 sp1 standard edition. We have SQL Server set to use AWE and we have granted the service account that SQL runs under the lock pages in memory privilege. The SQL server seems to be using the correct amount of memory (we have it capped at 28GB), however, we are getting failures in the security log stating that our service account is getting the SeLockMemoryPrivilege denied. Our page file seems to be awfully large as well (70GB). Does anyone have any insight into why the page file would be so big OR why we are getting the failure messages in the security log. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
