hello people can someone tell me how to provide security to cubes both in BIDS ans SSMS, apart from the permissions which a DBA gives to someone creating a cube how can you provide security to the cubes and its objects thank you.

In BIDS you manage security by adding Roles and then adding people to those Roles. It's a bit more complicated than that, obviously, but at least that would get you started. Look in the Solution Explorer.
In SSMS, when logged into an Analysis Services Server, you look for the Roles folder within the database you are trying to manage.
