So, when I browse over to http://MyTestServer:XXXX/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx?ViewMode=List, I can see all the report folders, drill down and see reports. Of course, I'm admin. I'm a member of a group that has Browser, Content Manager, My reports, Publisher, and Report Builder permissions.
But members of a group with Browser, My Reports, and Report Builder suddenly get a blank home page. No folders, no ability to see anything except the SSRS page. They've been able to see this page before. In a different environment (QC), same permissions, they still can see the underlying folder structure. But not in this one specific page / environment.
No permissions have changed that I'm aware of, and they've always been able to see this before. So why can't they see it now and why can I still see it?
As a test, I added "Everyone" with Browser permissions. Suddenly, this group could see what they needed. But "Everyone" does NOT exist on the QC's permissions page. So why would this group be able to see QC and not Test when they used to be able to see both?
Does anyone have any thoughts of other areas I can check for security besides the root folder of the pages?

Nevermind. We have a clustered server and the users in question keep getting shunted to the node that isn't quite working right. When we have them use the literal address of the working node instead of the virtual name, everything works fine.
Which begs the question of what's wrong with the "broken" node, but now that I have a work around, I have time to address that question later. @=)
