search functionality

  • Hello,

I really enjoy sql server central, but there is one thing that is rather frustrating: I receive your newletter by email and in the most recent version it refers to a discussion on Nulls. When I click on the link, i am referred to the sql server central login page, and when i log in I am not directed to the discussion i was looking for. I must do a search and there is no way to search by forum number and disccussion number. I try to enter the keywords but no luck. It would be nice if you could make the search functionality a little more user-friendly.

    Best,

  • marge,

There're several ways to use search to get best results - my "most preferred" is to use the "search" button on the toolbar on top...this takes you to a page where you can enter keywords and search:

    1) articles 2) scripts 3) discussions

Alternately, you can go directly to the "articles" under the "Resources" menu (on the left of the screen) or go to columnists - where you'll see every single article published - sorted by columnists with max # of articles and most recent date published.

The third method ("least preferred" for me) is to use the "search" in the individual forum.

ps: if you want the link to take you directly to the article/discussion etc..first login to SSC then come back and click on link...
