Scripting named pipes alias

    Hi! 

    I have an app, that uses BDE to connect to server.  Recently I movrd the server to a named instance on a cluster.  Due to some BDE issues the app stoped working.  A workarounfd was found:  to add an alias to a Client Network Utility: sqlserver -> node2\sqlserver.  This is a greate pain however: we have ~ 500 computers.  Is there a way to script the process into a windows *.bat file, to automate the process?

    Do you run Active Directory in your environment or can try logon scripting or manually visit each workstation or email each user a .reg file to double click.

    If you have SMS server, try to create it into a SMS package and push it to all your machines.
