Newbie here.. I am running perfmon for about 22 canters and then plan on running relog against the binary files to create the sql format output.. In looking over relog do I have to write directly to the database or can I write to logfiles? if so any one have any idea on how that might be done using relog

Haven't used it, but according to this blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/granth/archive/2008/09/23/relogging-perfmon-binary-log-files-to-sql.aspx), you should be able to write to other formats.
