Running a SSIS pkg upgraded in VS 2008 on SQL Server 2005 Server?

    There is a rather long story behind my question. But assume I have a VS 2005 solution that contains a web project, a SRS project, and a SSIS project. I open this solution in VS 2008 and the upgrade is done on everything. Therefore my SSIS package has been upgraded. Can this package be deployed to a SQL 2005 server (file system method) and be executed on that server or will 2008 packages only run on a SQL 2008 server?

    The metadata structure as well as the XML code supporting the SSIS is changed quite a bit in 2008 and there is no traslation back to 2005. So no a package convereted to 2008 will not run on 2005.

    Dan, thanks for the reply. That is what I thought, but I wanted some confirmation.
