  Hi !

  I want to set up my project to maintain the existing role on the server, so when I deploy the project to the analysis services server, the roles that are not droped / created based on the roles that I have on Visual Studio

  Based on MS docs, I've changed my deploymentoptions file to "RetainRoles", but everytime I deploy the project, Im loosing my roles inside the server.

  Am I missing something?

  The <project name>.deploymentoptions file specifies one of the following role deployment options:

  Existing roles and role members in the destination database are retained, and only new roles and role members are deployed.

  If I deploy the project using the Deployment Wizard and specify "Retain Role and Members" it seems to work tho.

  But I dont want to use the wizard for every deploy...

  Im using Azure Analysis Services , tabular model.
