You could develop an SSIS package to move the data from prod to QA on a daily basis. It would be quite an undertaking but your options are limited.

I am aware that is a ETL tool - but i am not very familir with it....any advice?

I would start by Googling for SSIS and DTS. DTS is SQL 2000 and SSIS is new in SQL 2005.
