Reporting using SQL Server

  • We're running a VB.NET app under SQL Server 2005 - currently reports are generated using Crystal Reports (CR10). I've developed all the reports.

I've been asked to look at using SQL Server itself (reporting services?) for reporting, and don't really know where to start. I currently have access to the server via SQL Server Management Studio.

Any clues to get me going?

  • Take a look at the Stairway for SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
