Hi,
We are planning to replace the hardware of an existing SQL 2000 cluster. It is a 2 node cluster. I was testing this in the lab and have encountered some issues. This is what I did
Using SQL installation removed 1 node from the cluster and the sysadmins removed it from the cluster and then added a new node with newer hardware.
I ran the SQL installation and added the new node for the SQL Server. But when I do this one node is in sp3a and the new node is in RTM. What do I do now?
1> Should I apply the service pack now? If so is there any particular node that has to be active (old vs new).
2> Can I failover to the new node or should I ensure that the SQL is online only on the old node ?
Any help will be much appreaciated.
Regards
Kris
