rephrase of previous question .. Are there any differences

  • in how a DTS packages (created with export wizard in Enterprise Manager)  runs when executed:

    1. manually

    versus

    2.  right-clicking that same job (after the scheduling a run time as a job for the package) in Enterprise manager and choosing start job

    versus

    3.  running at a scheduled time?

    My database role is coming across just fine in the export with options 1 & 2, but is only retaining a partial piece of it's actual permissions when executed as option 3.

  • With Steps 1 & 2, you are running the jobs.

    In Step 3 it is scheduled, hence running under the job owner. (You can view/change the job owner by right clicking on the job)
