Remove attachment from a post

  • Been a while since I uploaded attachments to things, I put something on a reply which I wanted to supersede, know the old forum style you could delete things to re-upload them, but unable to find the way to do it in the new forum.

Do I just edit and upload the file again with the same name and it overwrites it?

  • Thanks for posting your issue and hopefully someone will answer soon.

This is an automated bump to increase visibility of your question.

  • I don't think things overwrite, but if you give a URL to the post, we can remove the attachment.

I recently did the same thing and can confirm that things DON'T overwrite.  You'll end up with two files with one of them being appended with a "-1".  I've also confirmed that sending an email with the URL and the name of the file you want removed does work.  It just takes a day or so because people are busy.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
