remove a listener IP from a SQL Availability Group Listener

  • Hi All,
I have an availability group that was a multiple subnet
over multiple Locations,Like Australia  and UK DC top of cluster Always on AG configured,So my concern is AUS data center completely decommissioned and only UK node is active currently.
So I want to  remove  the unused IP subnet address from Always on AG listener(AUS subnet decom) since application guys are connecting to SQL Db using always on AG listener ,they won’t accept remove always on AG  listner.
Please let me know process on How to remove unused IP address from Always on AG(simply we can go to listener properties à remove the IP address),I don’t want remove the always on AG and it won’t be any outage.

    Thanks in advance!!

    Best regards,

You should be able to delete it in the GUI. Just go down to AlwaysOn High Availability -> Availability Groups -> <whatever your AG is named> -> Availability Group Listeners. If you right click the listener in question, you can go to Properties. Then you can remove the subnet / IP inside the General page of the window that pops up.
