"Remote Query Timeout"...

  • According to MSDN....

"Use the remote query timeout option to specify how long, in seconds, a remote operation can take before Microsoft SQL Server times out. The default is 600, .......This value has no effect on queries received by the Database Engine."

OK, so what does affect the query timeout of queries received by the database engine?

    TIA,

  • Connection timeout and query timeout. These should be set by the client.
