Just if you are rebuilding the clustered index.
Normally if you are rebuilding a "normal" heap index it doesn't touches the table itself.
All the pointer infos are stored within the index.
Otherwise you cannot rebuild the indexes on the sysindex table (this is my problem) and also I do not see any reason why I'm not allowed to do this being in single user mode.
