  Our company was audited

  Now we need to change the licensing on one of our SQL Server 2008 R2 from per proc licensing to per cal licensing.

  What is the best way to this, or do we need to reinstal SQL

  There's no switch for this in SQL Server. It's strictly administrative.

  The only time this would come up is if you were audited. You'd just need to ensure you have the proper licenses available.
