  • The server is not clustered and in a workgroup. Any other ideas?

  • Try this....

Go to the servers SERVICES and look for a SQLSERVERAGENT service. Make sure that its start up type is set to automatic.

    Andy.

  • May be the log is full....

  • I had a similar situation with services running under domain accounts when problems with the domain controller prevented the 'log on as service' being pulled down through group policy.  I had to go into Services and re-enter the password for the services.  Then they restarted fine.

  • tanx 2 much 4 your help!!! the last post did it, thanks all
