We just upgraded one of our database servers (non production) from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005. Everything looked like it ran okay. We checked the logs and everything was successful, but SQL Server 2000 is still running.
Any clues, ideas as to what to check, should we rerun the install? I am currently at a loss, but will begin doing some Googling to see if I can find anything more about this. Just hoping that someone else out there may have had a similiar experience and be able to assist.

After some research (didn't find anything), the only explanation I can come up with for this is that we thought we told setup to install the database engine, but must have unchecked it as well without noticing it.
We will be rerunning the install/upgrade and see what happens.

Actually, the problem was that you can't upgrade SQL Server 2000 EE to SQL Server 2005 DE. We got it done though, just took a little extra work.
