I'm wondering how articles like the two recent ones from RedGate software get ratings when I'm not able to vote on the articles. The 'predatory sales force' one from today kind of got on my nerves - it's a sales pitch in and of itself, couched as an informative article, and I would've liked the chance to counteract the 5 high ratings already applied.
I can understand if a company doesn't want its articles to be voted on by the readers, but please don't let an article acquire a few positive ratings and then shut off the feedback - it makes an article look much more applicable and interesting than it would be otherwise.

If you go to the SQLServerCentral.com specific page on the article, which lets you know it's an external link, there's a rating option right there on that page.

That's how I first found the article. It gives me a 'Thank you for voting!' message, which it did the first time I clicked, and I certainly haven't voted on this. Very different display from what I see for other articles on the site.

Submit to Steve a bug notice (Report a problem). While I can see that some folks are able to vote, if you're experiencing this issue, likely others are as well.

I am also never (as far as I have noticed) able to vote on those external articles. First I thought it was some bug with Firefox, but I have the same problem in IE.

It's a bug, but we're rewriting the aritcle stuff, so be patient.
